Every baby is different & not all babies "go" everday. If he is really uncomfortable try laying him on your lap with his back against your legs & "bicicling" hs legs around in circles. My pediatrician said not to be worried until it's been like 4 days without any pooping.

are you breastfeeding or formula ?
Are his stools soft, or hard ?

My son was on iron fortified formula, and was really constipated…
I switched to the same formula, lower iron…
Also, you can try making his formula a little more liquid… Not a lot.. Just not as concentrated…

Sometimes he doesn't **** in 1 day… Not alarming… We are more uncomfortable than they are…

When changing his diaper, wipe his **** a little more than you usually do… It might stimulate it… And you might be sorry you did… : )

Cooled boiled water with a little sugar should clean him out also gently hold legs up and help him if he appears uncomfortable . Always worked for me mother of 3

My doctor has always told me that as long as a baby is pooping at least every 3 days they are fine. The doctors will sometimes not give anything for constipation unless it has been about 5 or 6 days. My oldest had chronic constipation when he was about a year old (3 now) and the doctor always told NEVER use a laxative in a baby, because their system can become dependent on the laxative working their system for them. He eventually gave me Miralax to give my son when he starts acting up, but told me to wait at least 3 days to see if anything happens on his own, then to give the miralax. I believe the miralax is an over the counter product now, but just check with your doctor first.

Not all babies **** every day. Some don't even **** every other day. Constipation in babies is not measured in frequency or consistency as much as by his comfort level while going. If he cries while he goes or seems extremely uncomfortable DURING the poop, that may be a sign of constipation. Even a firm **** is okay as long as the baby does not show any signs of pain or discomfort during the process. If he cries during or does not go for 4-5 days, put 1 teaspoon of DARK Karo syrup in a bottle (Of formula if you are formula feeding, or expressed breastmilk or water of you are breastfeeding. If you are breastfeeding and decide to use water, this will not be in place of a ****** feeding, just in addition to. You will only need to use about a half ounce of water) You can do this twice a day for as long as necessary to get the poops back to normal. If after 2 bottles of the syrup the baby is still straining to go, you can go up to 2 teaspoons until he passes an easy ****. Once this happens go back down to one teaspoon then wean him off the syrup all together. Just be warned the Karo Syrup can cause diarreah. That is normal too. It works because it is more sugar than the body can digest and just passes straight through the digestive system, carrying all the backed up **** right along with it! If that still does not work, your baby may have an impacted bowel. Please note this is VERY unlikely. If you have any questions or are really nervous about your son's lack of poop, call your pediatricians office. If only for peace of mind. It's always better to KNOW nothing is worng than to WORRY that something is. Good luck!

Babys don't eliminate every single day. It is quite normal for a baby to go a few days without having a bowel movement do NOT give the child drugs the child doesn't need!
